The Barking Cat Brew Co. is the natural evolution of a shared dream between Father and Son Mark & Michael Ambrose, founders of the locally beloved and multi-award winning Barking Cat Alehouse and lifelong champions of real ale culture. With decades of combined experience across brewing, bar management, and beer festival curation, they've poured their passion into creating a brewery that's as bold and characterful as the beers it will produce. 

Michael brings deep roots in the craft and real ale industry, with a talent for brewing that's been honed through years of experimentation and innovation. Mark, a well-known figure in Poole's hospitality scene, has successfully run multiple establishments and hosted renowned beer festivals at venues including the Poole Ex Servicemen's Club, St Dunstan's Church, and of course the fantastic Barking Cat Alehouse itself. 

Together, they've always wanted to take the next step, crafting their own beer, on their own terms. Now, with the launch of The Barking Cat Brew Co., that vision is becoming reality. 

Our home at Arthur Brays Yard on West Quay Road was chosen with purpose: a site steeped in local history, accessible by public transport, and surrounded by the industrial grit that mirrors our brewing ethos. This isn't just a brewery, it's a tribute to Poole's past, present, and future.
